HEY HEY FAMILIE AND OTHERS HA! well another week has gone by and its going fast already! i cant belive its already been another week its umbelievealbe sometimes and i think that i havent really done much with my week but acutally i have haha! we had about 16 street contacts this week and which is really high! and that was mostly in the past three days! even when people wont give out there number you can tell that they are interested even if they will not act on the feeling! we contacted this guy and we told him about mormons bok and how its full of history and they guy is all about history and the the bible even though he has not read the bible it fasinates him but he lives in oslo but loved our message and we gave him a mormons bok and he said he really wanted to read it and we told him well we dont not force people into our church but simply invite them to read this book and pray about it for themselfs! he found that very interesting! its funny even most people wont stop for our message norwegians in general are very nice people and will simply say sorry i have work or i dont have time or just cant be bothered but they usually have a smile on their face and keep walking!
welll i told you about that family i found when i was out knocking on spilts? well we taught them on tuesday and it went so well and she was so into it and we shared the 1st lesson again so the father could hear it and he seemed to like it atleast we thought! well we scheduled another day to come back and we invited them to read the packet and the intro to the book of mormon and they said they would and they said they would pray about it too! well the day came that we were suppose to meet with them and we get a random text saying hey we read the packet and its not for us cancel the appointment and all that and i was like what? there is no way! i bet you havent even prayed about it! but we sent them a text back and said well we are always here for you if you need anything and i hope the best for the both of you and we will keep you in our prayers and thats the last we have heard from them so that was a huge first disappointment in my mission but you know we have to keep our heads high and god has prepared other people to come the knowledge of the gospel and people still have their agency and i love that our church is all for that and i think it really shows our faith that there are others who are ready to recieve the gospel!
well one thing i wanted to share with everyone as a side note as ihave been reading my scriptures and trying all ways to open my thoughts to deeper pondering is applying the atonement in our lifes daily! god has given us the chance to be baptized and have a remission of our sins daily and weekly as well as partaking of the sacrement! i want a to give out a challenge to whom ever may read this that as you go through your day and no one is perfect to apply the atonement in our lives and to ask forgiveness everyday so we ourselfs can come closer to our father in heaven and i know that if we do this just like i tell my investigators that they will come to knowledge of how they can see the importance of repentance and how they need christ in their own lifes! as we apply this we all can feel the difference in our lifes and know that we can live with our father in heaven again and we can rest from our labors and be at peace with ourselfs!
well it hasnt been to exciting of a week even though we have experiances and i will tell you this even though my norwegian is far from good i can get a message across to people and that i know in their hearts they could feel something different about our message!
moss is a big family ward and i could not have had a better place to start my mission because i love families and i have always gotten along with people and especially older people! i love getting to know people in the ward and one great thing that we have is we get the oppertunity to go on splitts twice a week and we eat dinner with the members everyday.....so yes i am getting lots of food and trying to keep the weight down! i am so greatful for the members in moss and how they strive to help us missionaries everyweek and here in norway its a huge part of the culture to get to know them and to gain their trust and in that way we then can recieve refferals! we are gaining the trust as much as we can by being the dillegent missioraries we need and should be by doing our best everyday and keeping the spirit as much as we can to be with us always! we are making a goal to talkj with more people and do as much as possible to talk with everyone i mean its impossible to talk to everyone but its the effort that god knows we put into finding! i know god is on our side as we are obediant and are trying our hardest to be like christ and be like him and be the amazing teachers we all have been prepared to be! i am so thankful for my oppertunity to be in the most amazing place in the world and have the experiance to willingly give up two simple years to our god and our savior to show my own love for our savior! i know it was through jesus christ we can be saved!
hmmmmmm.... well mission work is not hard and even though i forget i am on a mission meening i feel like i am on splitts with the missionaries and trying to be like them! its weird me and my companion were talking and we both agreed how we forget in a sense we are on a mission because its so fun to talk to everyone and try to give them the happpiness we have in our life today! we are here to invite and i think sometimes misisonaries forget that we are not here to force people everyone has their agency and if they dont except it its ok because they will soon except it in this life or the next but they are the ones that will have to stand at the judgment! but we must remember that we are all saved through jesus christ:) i love the work here in moss and its a great place and i love it so very much! i want everyone to know that i do not have a perfect knowledge and wish i had a better knowledge to explain but i work hard to gain that knowledge everyday and through sincere pray one day i will have a great knowledge or a better knowledge of the scriptures and everything in them!:) i love my savior jesus christ and i love our plan of redemtion so we can live with our father in heaven again through jesus christ and our willingness to follow is commandments and by the profets guidence! i am so greatful for the blessing i recieve everyday through everyone that prays for me!
i hope everyone is well and please write me and tell me how everything is gonig through e mail or letter! i sent my sd card home on tueday? so i hope you like the pictures and stuff! i will say i miss all the hikes from scouts and i miss scouts! i went on a little nature walk last pday in the mountains and when you see the pictures they are the last toward the end of the pictures but its beautiful here! i want to come back here after the mission thats forsure! i hope all have a great week and follow up on the commitment! love you alll
