Week 3 down!

Let me just say that time is flying by! weeks feel like days but on the other hand days feel like weeks! days go by fast and slow and its really hard to remember what day it is sometimes! i havent really had mail this week because of the holiday and the mail service gets way slow but my teachings have gotten better! we have been teaching two investigators hows name is jan olav and yin ming something.... hahaha but they both are athiest but are progressing well and are learning more and more! i have the first lesson down pretty well and the language is coming i just have to thing alot of what i am trying to say! i am reallly trying to SYL this week but i am memorizing words and getting more words everyday! flipping and flopping sentances is giving me a reall struggle but i am not to worried about that right now i feel that that is something i will get down eventually when i am in the field! this week has deffinatly been the best spiritual week! the devotional on sunday was a riot! the guy that spoke was crackin jokes every sentance! him and his wife gave us the best lesson! it was steven allen he was from the managing missionaries or somehting like that and he was a great guy! my room mates left today and that is kind of a dissapointment since they were really funny and yes the photos i sent they are the really nerdy ones and just by looking at them they make you want to bust out laughing!:) i am hoping we dont get new room mates right away because i for our luck they will be up tight and wont have anyspace for jokes....! today at the temple i saw spencer reed! that was very spiritual and the spirit just took over my whole body when i started talking to him!  i am glad to hear about all the blessings that you are recieving since i have been out here and trust me i think about you guys all the time and my eyes fill with tears but i know this is what i am suppose to be doing and it will bless my life and also my famillies life! i hope you can start to get over your sinus infection mom! its been along time since you ahve been up to full health and i pray that you will start to have many blessing and to start to feel better! i love you sooo much! mtc life is great there is always something to learn everyday! i am almost finished with the book of mormon i have 90 pages left! i dont get as much study time as i want because i have to split it up everyday and it feels like i dont get enough time to accomplish what i would like to do! personal study is only 1 hour aday and comp study 1 hour and language study 1 hour! so my own personal study i have to split up with preach my gospel and with my scriptures and trying to ponder everything it feels like i just dont have enough time to do everything i want during study! My teacher brother jaffa is so great! i am starting to really understand the language well mostly during teaches but trust me they dont slow down the speach at all we will have things repeated over and over again and then figuring out what to say to get a man who barely believes in god is not an easy task! everyday is a rollercoaster at the mtc... you will have your highest day and the lowest and feel like you just cant do anything but after you pray its like everyting just starts to become clear again and you can speak again and your brain is done hurting from all this stuff that is getting hammered into your head and cant even think! prayer is always been one of my strong holds though it has always brougth me to come back and to feel the spirit more and more! sundays are by far one of the best days in the mtc! no language and its literally the day of your rest well brrain rest haha! i have been singing in the chior and that is such a spirtual thing! when we sing called to serve... i can only tell you how the spirit just over whelms the room! we sing it in a different way start out low then second verse mid and then the lastt part we get louder and then we sing the chorus again with the might of ten thousand people! i love the mtc even through the ups and downs! thanks for your letter dad i love getting family letters its a brighning in my day and always lifts me up to keep working harder and pusshing forth in faith! the gift of tounges is AMAZING! seth used to tell me this quote; there is a difference between conceptual learning and experiance. the gift of tongues is something that you have to experiance to understand! i am glad that you found the problems on the truck and were able to get them fixed! casey is great with cars and that is deffinatly one thing i miss is being around cars and learning but that is one thing i gave up to be here! i got a letter from tim barlow and tell him thannks it made my day to get that! tell the family that i love them and am always waiting for letters to hear how everyone is doing! jeg vet at en frelser vete hver ett av oss og det hvis vi folge jesu kristi eksemlpe vi kan komme tillbakke til ham! han er meg frelse og jeg elske ham alltid!

Week 2 Excuse the Punctuation!

well off to week two and it has been such a great week!! i have had some amazing experiances this week and i cant wait to tell you about them!! I have been hearing all about the 17 miracles and i want to see it! elder williams in my district is related to us somewhere down the line through levi savage! i cant wait to see it i have heard awesome reviews on it so we will have to watch it when i get back in two years hahaha! Thanks for the package everyone is eating my skittles so its good and for the other usefull items! tell kinzie thanks i put the litle horse on my wall:)! where is my letter from mik and hallie? haha or the rest of the gang? i have been getting letters from so many of my friends i have such a busy day of writting and doing laundry today and i have a lesson to teach at six but i am totally prepared:)

     So let me do a little review for you:) so since last wednesday i told you about the person we had been teaching and his name is anders and he was an athieust and had no belief in god! we all were teaching him and lets just say me and my comp got the closest to baptism then anyone else! we taught him for a week! but me and my comp atually had our ok im sick of you and got into a rediculous argument well he did i was totally fine but thats all better he just has a thing that if it doesnt go his way then he gets pissed at me and has to voice everything! but as for me i am so laid back and just happy to teach what i can! it was all about that he didnt want me to bring up baptism and keep extending the commitment and he was getting pissed but guess who said yes? yea thats right i got the yes but just still need a little bit more knowledge and he got the crap end of the stick for getting pissed at me:) and then found out the investigator was our other teacher:) his name is brother byrnes and he is so awesome just got home from his mission like 2 months ago from norway!

  So me and my comp are getting along alot better even though he is opinionated like crazy but just have to learn to deal with it because he is not going anywhere anytime soon! but we still laugh more than anyother companionship more than anyone else! as far as my roommates go they leave next week and they are the best room mates ever haha they are so funny and you will see them this week i am sending my card home so youcan see them they are so geeky but they are some of the funniest people i have ever met and will be sad to see them go! as my luck goes we will get the uptight roommates next.....!

Sacrement meeting is quite the experiance at the mtc its nothing like a normal sacermennt meeting for one we have priesthood first at 9 then personal study back in the room and then we have sac. at 12! i blessed the sacrement this sunday and it was awesomee! we have to always be prepared to give a 5 minutes talk on some random topic and they choose randomly out of the crowd hha! so this week my whole district sang in the choir and how spiritual was that! i was absolutly filled with the spirit the whole meeting and i could not have had a better experiacne i am doing it everyweek for sure!! we had an old seventy come yesterday with his wife! f. melvin hammond and himand his wife are so funny and so spiritual they were the mission presidents in the bolivia mission and he gave us some amazing stories about there experiances! the mtc is so amazing with the spirit and doing the mock investigators is so great i am loving it even if i am dead tired and sick of the same routine everyday!

   The language is coming....along i can speak it and understand brother bynes more than i can understand brother jaffa he speaks way to fast and i only pick up about half of what he says if i am lucky! but teaching in norsk is really coming along and being able to teach the whole first lesson with out notes by week two is such an accomplishment! i this week my goal has been to learn atleast 15 words aday that have to do with something i am learning about! other goal was to memorize the first vision in norsk! finished that inlike an hour and now can resite it and it is so powerful i got to use it in a mock the other day and the spirit was all over the room!!

    yesterday we got to meet and talk with one of our presidents over our branch (bro sis mangum) they are so great and she is so great to get along with! we talked to her fro like an hour and we were late going to our rooms last night hahah! i told her all about the neices and nephews and it was so awesome and she is always telling me how adorable i am! when i was singing in the choir i guess the camera was always on me and she said she was always looking for me and then could find the rest of the people! she says i just have that aura around me that she loves!

  The gym is finally open! we just got to play basketball and i am finally getting a work out in! basketball and running around instead of playing softball wich is fun but just not enough of a work out! so we have been ballin up everyday for gym but we can only play to 7 and only 3on3 or no playing at all! i am loving everyday here and it gets better and harder everyday! i cant wait to get letters from the fam! meg wrote me and i loved it! when ever i get letters it bring happiness and tears to my eyes and makes me wanna cry! it is such a support to get letters and it brings me higher and is such a motivation! thank your for everything! dad hows the german coming? mom hows the scripture study? whats new with everyone keep me posted my time is almost up!

yes mom i got my jacket! i got it that night but its nice because its super hot so i dont have to wear my jacket except for twice a week sundays and tuesdays! well i just got on to check and see if you had written back! love you lots and tell the family hi! tell dad to write me and i will check it next week! but have him do dear elder.com its way easy for me and then i can easily reply becasue i already know what went on! the computer shuts off exactly after thirty minutes! cant wait to here from you! kjaelihet eldste farnsworth

Dear Family!!

 

Well let me just say how much of a new experiance it has been here in the mtc! the first class i had when i got in was completly in norwegian and i had no idea what was going on!! but now being inthe mtc for a week i can say my prayers in norwegian and i can teach the first lesson very simply! It is so spiritual here and i am loving it so much!! my companion is eldste albert peterson from minnisota and he is like my best friend and is way easy to get along with and i could not be happier about him being my first companion!! our heavenly father has blessedd me somuch this past week with the gift of toungues and the interpretation of toungues you have no idea how crazy it has been!! everyday is planned out and i cant stand that but it works and i obey everything and do my best!! we taught an investigator the second day in full norwegian and it was the most humbling experiance i could have to first see what it was like!! it went absolutly horribly well for one my campanion likes to take over the lesson and he got VERY cocky and thought he could do everything with out a written plan so we both had to go from memory and it went like i said horrible!! but we have taught him three other lessons now and they have gone so well and the spirit was there i coulndt stop smiling and looking in to his eyes!! just so you know he is a full norwegian and he ONLY speaks a little english and i am very sure he is mormon i saw the G's but he plays the part super well and it is very convincing! you guys are such a big help when i got the first letter i almost started crying i couldnt help it i basically was baulling because its deffinatly not easy having you guys to talk to and being able to have help but when i am speaking a different language and its hard to get help we have to do everyting ourselfs! so if you are wondering how they teach us its basically all class room we are in there for 8 hours or more a day and all study is done in there and not in our rooms! basically no study goes on in the room! my teacher bror jaffa is great and he has answered my questions very well and he is a great teacher and helps me understand alot even though i still cant speak the language with out stoping on almost everyword i can get out what i am trying to say usually with a little help! pronounceation? is  key to this language and its a very basic language compared to english there are so little ways to express yourself which makes it easy in some ways!! but just so you know i only have wednesday as my pday and have a timer for thirty minutes so please use dear elder i can get those in like a day and read over them and it helps a lot that way i can know whe to write you guys:) so just use that and i will email you every week:) i am having such a great time and dad yes i know sister grass she is in my district with another sister floyd who are both very nice!! i havent found out about the roberts i know a joel roberts but its not the one i talked to anyway!! but there are a total of 8 people in my district and they are all great! the other people in our room specificaly elder bott who is going to tulsa talks in his sleep and its is so funny!! he falls asleep in a matter of mimutes and we all just sit there and wait to bust out laughing he says the most random things like i am going to kill you and shut up and no no no dont hurt me! he talked about narnia one time haha he is a weird kid but super funny!! so wednesday is my pday and its a busy day! i love you all so much and i am always so excited to read everything you have to write me!! i really dont know what else to say except i miss you and love you!! oh yes i see seth bangerter all the time and we talk and i see a bunch of my friends here!! tell the ward hi and how much i love them and tell them to send me letters i love getting insipration it is so great! mom i challenge you to read the book of mormon all the way through will i am in the mtc!! so you have to be ready atleast 12 pages aday::) so hup to it mom i love you so much! dad you so go keep working on your german i know you love it and i want you to keep progressing it will still be usefull for you to know it:) elske eldste Farnsworth ( love elder farnsworth):)
